Anna Rispoli In the Hood. Scores for People, Affects & Capital

What do we imagine when we say «attractive neighbourhood»? Who defines its boundaries? What do urban regeneration programs have to do with the conflicting interests of residents and users? And above all, what space is there for dissent in this complex territorial redefinition?
In light of fifteen years of artistic projects in dialogue with local communities, Anna Rispoli shares the reasons for a change of course with regard to possible artivist strategies, imagining new emancipatory alliances that carve their ways to joyfully resist cultural exploitation.

Biography

Anna Rispoli works between artistic creation and civic space, developing prototypes for sharing material resources, intelligence and affects. Her work has been produced and presented by major European festivals, as well as in New York, Abu Dhabi and Gwangju.
Exploring issues such as the financialisation of contemporary cities, educational models, and the relationship between intolerance and eroticism, she has involved groups of teenagers, activists, neighbors and social tenants in multiple forms of public acts and “embodied documentaries”.
Since 2024, together with thirty women with and without papers, she has co-directed Struggle Care Joy, which looks at the narrative of migration from a feminist and emancipatory perspective. The first Undocumented Candidate of Europe and the Alliance des Fortes were born from this trajectory. She was part of the Common Wallet, a collective of ten people who practised radical economic solidarity.
