NEW MEETINGS is a real-time animated performance of avatars “meeting about whatever” broadcast from within a custom metaverse. THING.tube, a livestream network for artists made with the collective Is this THING On? (Christopher Clary, soft networks, and Molly Soda) is an experiment in software-development-as-performance.

Biography
Sarah Rothberg is an interactive media artist creating playful, poetic, usually-a-bit-weird experiences that invite you to reconsider your relationship to the world around you. These take many forms ranging from performance to VR/AR, installation, video, writing, workshops. Rothberg is currently an Assistant Arts Professor at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts , a member of ONX Studio, a mentor at NEW INC. Rothberg also works on the collaborative projects INVESTING IN FUTURES, a participatory framework for imagining changed worlds, and IS THIS THING ON? a post-web2 experiment in artist-driven livestreaming. Rothberg is a 2023 Jerome Hill Artist Fellow in Technology-centered arts.
